Cambodia’s New “Rocket Scientists” Graduate from Russian Institute

Phnom Penh: Cambodia has seven new rocket scientists. The group have graduated from Russia’s Penza Artillery and Engineering Institute. They have all qualified with a Master’s Degree-equivalent “Advanced Training Certificate” in rocket and missile technology.

The seven graduates are:

Hem Norak Satya, Phon Narith, Keo Phally and Ung Mengly, who have specialised in missiles and artillery; O Sovanpanha who studied to become a Radio Artillery Technician; and Ngoeun Bunthen who has graduated with a degree in Armour and Electron Reflectors, which are used in a rocket’s first stage of launch.

Russia’s Penza Artillery and Engineering Institute is one of the world’s leading rocket science academies and falls under the auspices of the Russian Federation’s Defence Ministry.
